Press Release Summary: British ladies sign up in their hundreds for new home study courses to qualify as plumbers.
Press Release Body: Over 100 British ladies of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds are among thousands of wannabe plumbers who have signed up for a new virtual reality plumbing course that combines hi-tech with conventional practical training, to enable participants to achieve City & Guilds, CITB, BPEC and CORGI qualifications. Among the ladies opting for the watery career change are an ex-naval officer, a former paramedic, single mothers and a husband and wife team.
The newly launched course, from distance learning specialist Train4TradeSkills, combines theory coursework and practical workshops with a virtual reality `house', that allows the would-be plumbers to walk around the rooms, solving plumbing problems from burst pipes to leaking overflows.
The course is open to everyone from school leavers to retired persons, those wanting to get to grips with plumbing or earn a decent living from the trade, it can be taken in modules, with students working at their own pace, enabling them to train around existing work and home commitments.
With more plumbers retiring than qualifying, a vast influx of Polish and Eastern European labour, who will at some point return home, and a massive trade skills shortage in the UK, the future's looking bright for the aspiring plumbers.
The only thing missing from the virtual reality house is a hoover to clear up afterwards!
